01 INPUT FILE NAME
INPUT FILE NAME
*
* Key in Input File Name to be processed and viewed.
* If the file is not in the current directory, then key
* in full path and file name. If file cannot be located
* then Press F2 for Directory Assistance. If path and
* file are too long to type in the window prompt then
* switch to directory of file and run system from that
* directory.
*

02 STARTING BYTE NUMBER
STARTING BYTE NUMBER
* Key in Starting Byte Number for display. To start at
* the beginning of the file, press ENTER, since the
* default value is 1. To view records further into file,
* key an approximate byte number. To view the last few
* records, key in a number slightly less than the file
* size. If you do not start at the beginning of the file,
* the first record displayed most likely will not be on a
* full record boundary. However, all subsequent records
* displayed will be full record displays.

03 STARTING RECORD NUMBER
STARTING RECORD NUMBER
*
* Key in the specific record you wish to view first.
* Since delimited files are variable length records
* the system will search for this record first.

04 DEBLOCK DATA?
DEBLOCK DATA?
* Deblocking data means that you will display the same
* number of characters for each record. This is
* important in order to find the "implied" number of
* characters in a record which does not have normal line
* endings such as cr, lf, cr-lf. If your file does indeed
* have normal line ending codes, usually you would not
* use deblocking, but you may. In order to deblock a
* file, you need to specify the implied Record Length.
* Y=Yes -- Display deblocked file
* N=No -- Do NOT use deblocking, use line endings
* instead.
(Press any key to continue, F1=General Information)
05 RECORD SIZE
RECORD SIZE
*
*
* Record Size is only to be used for displaying
* deblocked files. The Record Size becomes the "implied"
* record length of the file. Each displayed record will
* have exactly the number of characters you have
* specified at this prompt.

50 DISPLAY AND PRINT FILE (DPF)
DISPLAY AND PRINT FILE (DPF)
* DPF will display and/or print any record and every
* character (byte) in any file. This includes not only
* "normal" ASCII files, but all .exe files, binary
* files, communication files, and any file from any
* database, or files of unknown origin. Every character
* will be displayed. Characters below ASCII 32 will be
* displayed as an asterisk (*). The proper graphic will
* display for all other characters. During run, use F1
* (Help) for use of function keys and cursor keys.
